The Sonus Stone Collection is defined by its raw, organic elegance. Unlike manufactured "stone-look" products, Sonus is a genuine natural slate veneer. This means your installation will possess a depth, texture, and colour variation that only millions of years of geological pressure can produce.

The Nature of Slate: Chipping & Flaking
Slate is a metamorphic rock formed in distinct layers. Because our veneers are real stone, they retain this "fissile" quality - the tendency to split along natural planes.

• During Installation: Handling and cutting the stone may cause small flakes or chips to loosen. This is a standard part of working with natural slate and should be expected by your installer.
• Post-Installation: As the stone settles into its new environment, minor "shaling" (the shedding of small stone flakes) may occur. This is not a sign of product failure, but rather the stone’s natural way of shedding excess layers.

Detailed Care & Repair
We believe in the longevity of our products. Most minor chips or flakes do not require a full replacement and can be resolved in minutes.

The Sonus Touch-Up Kit: Each kit is specifically formulated to treat exposed areas where flaking has occurred. By applying the treatment, you protect the stone’s integrity and blend the colour seamlessly, making the "repair" virtually invisible to the naked eye.

1. Product Characteristics & Variations
By purchasing the Sonus Stone Collection, the buyer acknowledges that slate is a natural material. Variations in colour, shade, texture, and thickness are inherent. Chipping, flaking, or "shaling" during or after installation is a known characteristic of natural slate veneers and does not constitute a manufacturing defect.

2. Inspection and Handling
Customers are advised to inspect all materials upon delivery. However, due to the nature of the product, minor perimeter chipping or surface flaking that can be resolved with a touch-up kit is considered within industry tolerances for natural stone.

3. Right to Repair Policy
In accordance with our quality assurance protocols, Blue 31 Ltd t/a Barham & Sons reserves the right to attempt a repair or provide a repair solution (such as a Touch-Up Kit or professional restoration) before a replacement is authorised.

• Replacement of material will only be considered if the structural integrity of the veneer is compromised beyond the capabilities of a standard repair.
• Blue 31 Ltd t/a Barham & Sons is not liable for labour costs associated with the removal or re-installation of repaired or replaced materials.
